About Kickboxing
Get ready to get in shape and learn a new skill, then kickboxing is for you. Kickboxing is a high pace, high cardio, and calorie-burning exercise that stimulates your muscles and your brain. An average class is 1 hour and it’s 1 hour that flies by. You are too busy during class to think about anything else besides your next combination, before you know it class is over and you are left with over 500 calories burned.

What is Tang Soo Do?
American Tang Soo Do is a Korean/Japanese-American hybrid martial art formed in 1966 by Chuck Norris who combined Tang Soo Do-Moo Duk Kwan, Judo, Shito-ryu Karate and Shotokan Karate. Over the years it has been further developed by former black belts of his and their students.
What does Karate Mean?
The word karate is a combination of two kanji (Chinese characters): kara, meaning empty, and te, meaning hand; thus, karate means “empty hand.” Adding the suffix “-dō” (pronounced “daw”), meaning “the way/path,” karate-dō, implies karate as a total way of life that goes well beyond the self-defense applications.
Wha is Jiu Jitsu?
The word “jiu jitsu” derives from the Japanese “Jū” meaning “gentle” and “Jutsu” meaning “art”; essentially, jiu jitsu is the “gentle art”.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a predominantly ground-based martial art, using the principals of leverage, angles, pressure and timing, as well as knowledge of the human anatomy, in order to achieve a non-violent submission of one’s opponent. Unlike other martial arts that focus on strikes and/or kicks, jiu jitsu focuses on close-contact “grappling” holds and techniques, and the application of chokes and joint-manipulations.
